We enjoy family firms with a story behind them, and Farmet a.s. is exactly that. The third generation is now at work here, building agricultural machinery and oilseed processing technology. For its 25th anniversary in 2017 the company threw itself a proper celebration.
Our collaboration began with a small product video, and after it went down well we were asked to help prepare the films for the June celebrations. That meant immersing ourselves in the company’s history, understanding its vision and looking into the future together. The enthusiastic response from management, from people on the shop floor and from the foreign guests invited to the celebration made every sleepless night at the edit suite worth it. Three films were the main outcome: Welcome to Farmet, which set out to show foreign dealers why the company grew up where it did; Historical Milestones, walking through the history of a family of inventors and the pillars of the product range; and Farmet Today and Tomorrow, in which we let the chief executive present the company as it stands now and open up its vision for the years ahead.
We filmed at the celebrations themselves as well. What more to say — we are glad when a client is happy, and we have been working together for more than five years now.
“We approached Špetla Film on the strength of excellent references. Today I can say I am very glad we did. They are young but already experienced people who are not afraid of unconventional solutions, highly creative, healthily bold, and at home with modern communication technology. They got to grips with the business of agricultural machinery and oilseed processing technology admirably fast. They handled communication towards every target group, and towards us as the client, very well. It is also valuable that they stand behind their own opinion while still responding flexibly to a change of brief. And so a smaller one-off commission grew into a collaboration across several projects.”

For Farmet’s 30th anniversary we produced sixty minutes of video in several language versions, screened in a newly built showroom with large-format 4K projection and on televisions throughout the company’s halls. The films will go on serving visiting delegations and school groups. The most demanding piece was an eighteen-minute film shot against a green screen in a makeshift studio with a black backdrop made of geotextile. Compared with renting a sound stage this saved the client a great deal of money — and left them a studio they can keep using for future shoots.
